According to neuroscience research, Mindfulness  and Meditation rewires the brain and strengthens the neural pathways for resilience. It dampens activity in the amygdala and increases its connection to the prefrontal cortex. This helps us to be less reactive to stressors and to recover more effectively and sustainably from stress.

Studies reveal that mindfulness meditation may reduce anxiety and depression, boost your immune system, allow you to unhook from unhealthy habits and addictions, soothe insomnia, reduce high blood pressure, help you manage pain, and even change the structure and function of your brain in positive ways.

The brain is plastic, meaning it has plasticity, the ability to learn and grow and change over time. Meditation affects the brain’s functionality, its structure, and its thought patterns.  The more you meditate and practice mindfulness, the more the brain’s synapses strengthen, which can help improve your life.

"Mindfulness is not about becoming a different person, new person, or a better person. It is about training in awareness and understanding of how and why you think and feel the way you do and getting a healthy sense of perspective in the process. It just so happens that when you do, any changes you want to make in life become that much more feasible."
